4 huge chunky boys born on Saturday 3rd December, 3 Rosetted and 1 Marble – At this stage they all look like Blue Eyed (Seal Lynx) but I will know for sure after they are 10 to 14 days old as some or all could have be Blue Blue Eyed Rosetted (Blue Seal Lynx).
Update Jan 4th
Due to not being 100% sure of their full colour, I have today sent off oral mouth swabs for full colour DNA tests for analysis. Depending on these colour results the 4 little boys may all be reserved. At the moment I think they are all Blue Snows as mum and dad both carry the dilute gene which if replicated by both parents allows the Blue gene to be passed on to the kittens. As Mum is green eyed (Blue AOC Snow spotted GCCF – Seal Mink spotted TICA)Dad is Blue Eyed (Blue Eyed Snow Spotted GCCF – Seal Lynx Spotted TICA) The kittens could be Green or Blue eyed, both are possible in this litter. At the moment there is only 1 other Green Eyed Blue Snow spotted (Blue AOC Snow Spotted GCCF – Blue Seal Mink TICA)cat registered in Britain So it is very exciting here at Pantherajedi. The test results should be back around the 21st Jan, depending on how busy the genetic team are at UC Davis – California.
All 4 boys are very different in colour at the moment as they are developing at different rates, the Marble boy is by far the darkest, but has a Blue glow to his coat. The 3 spotted boys have different size and shape spots – some are already opening into nice 2 tone Rosettes, all three are a different shade of Snow with a Blue glow at the moment which is why I have decided to test to be 100% sure.
Update Jan 24th
The results are in, we have 1 Blue – Blue Eyed Snow Spotted boy, 1 Blue Eyed Marble Boy and 2 Blue Eyed Snow Spotted boys. At the moment the Marble boy is available for Pet / Show. The 3 Spotties are available as fantastic pets.
